In 2025, the Summer Zoo School at the Sofia Zoo will be held from June 9 to July 11, 2025. The Summer Zoo School program will be organized by the team of the Educational Sector at the zoo and will take place in the building of the Ecological Scientific and Educational Center and on the territory of the Sofia Zoo. Summer Zoo School 2025 will be held according to the following schedule: there will be three junior groups for children aged 7 to 9 and the classes will be held in the following periods: 1st group – from June 9 to 13, 2nd group – from June 16 to 20, 3rd group – from June 23 to 27. There will be two senior groups for children from 10 to 12 years old and classes will be held in the following periods: 4th group – from June 30 to July 4 and 5th group – from July 7 to 11. Registration for the Summer Zoo School will begin on May 8, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at the ticket office at the Western Entrance of the Zoo on Srebarna Street No. 1, where public transport buses also stop. Registration of each child can only be done personally by a parent or other relative, and the child can only be included in one group, which must correspond to his or her age. An important condition for 7-year-old children is that they have completed 1st grade. 20 children will be enrolled in each group. Upon registration, parents will receive instructions on the rules of the Summer Zoo School, information about the program and a certificate that the child is enrolled in the group chosen by the parent. The data required for registration are three names of the child, the name and phone number of a parent and the personal identification number, which is necessary for the children’s insurance. Registration will continue until the places are filled.

The fee for the five-day school program is 250 BGN (excluding VAT), which was approved on the basis of the adopted Regulation on Amendments and Supplements to the Local Fees and Prices of Services Provided by the Sofia Municipality (Decision No. 5 under Protocol No. 28 of 16.01.2025, announced on 23.01.2025). It does not include transportation of students to the zoo and food. The fee for the Summer Zoo School is paid on the first day of the program at the zoo’s cash desk, and not upon registration. When the children arrive with their parent on the first day of the program, the parent will be familiarized with the approved Regulations of the Summer Zoo School and will fill out an Application and Declaration form. Then the payment of the fee for the Summer Zoo School approved by the Sofia Municipality is made at the zoo cash desk.
